We planned to remove the rear wall two weeks after the planners told me the planning permission would be signed. It had all bee approved, it just needed the final signature. All the excavators had been delivered, we were ready to go, but no paperwork. I went to the planning office, with my baby son, and set up camp in reception. They said it would be done in an hour or so, so we waited. 5 hours later it was done.
We put the excavator bucket next to the wall, and threw the wall into it, stone by stone. The excavator filled the dumper, which we unloaded at the back of the garden. The wall was over two foot thick, we were going to end up with a huge stone pile.
About a third of the eventual stone pile, we would need some of the stone for wall building later.
The wall is gone, joining the replacement into the corner looks like it will be fun.
