The rear wall of the old shippon was in a bad way. We decided that we needed to dig the wall out of the bank in order to see what work was required. We had an excavator in to lay a new water pipe, and we took the opportunity to do this at the same time.

We soon discovered that there was no mortar left in the wall at all, the wall also had quite a bow in it. The architect advised that the best solution was to take the wall down, and rebuild it.
